Ashamed to claim Christ??

There are hidden Christians, both in Japan and other places as well.  Two people may work in the same company and never know the other is a Christian.  They miss the opportunity to encourage one another, pray with and for one another, because they want to remain unidentified as a Christian.

E, was introducing her new friend, Mrs. Na, to an old friend. When she introduced her she said “This is my new friend, and she is a Christian”. The old friend, who is not a Christian, didn’t have any problem with the introduction. But later, the Christian friend told E not to introduce her as a Christian. She said she wanted to be able to get to know the person before she shared she was a Christian. Of course, E has been watching her and noticed that this friend who is a Christian has not been sharing the gospel with her neighbors and friends.

E and the other HC Christians with her were dumbfounded. E was discouraged and confused. They are so excited about knowing Christ that they want people to know that they know Him and the share about the difference He makes in their lives. They want their family, neighbors, friends and those they see in need around them to come to know Him as well.

Pray that this incident will not discourage the HC Christians from sharing their faith. Pray for even more boldness and consistency as they live out their lives in a place where only one in two hundred claim to know Jesus.
