Small world

2011 3 Tohoku Earthquake

Many continue to suffer in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami that hit northeast Japan on March 11. The S family is no exception. They lived near Ishinomaki town which was nearly obliterated by the tsunami. Their son trusted Christ when he was in college in the late 70′s.  They were very upset  and forbade him to be baptized. They had a family council and wrote a letter to reinforce their position. But on a rainy May day thirty plus years ago this young man followed the Lord in baptism in Tokyo Bay. He has faithfully followed the Lord ever since, giving his life to full time Christian service.

Thes couple is in need of food, water and help following the earthquake/tsunami.  The pastor and his wife who led their son to the Lord and baptized him thirty years ago are going to Ishinomaki town to visit them, to take them food and water. Pray there is an opportunity to also the news that Jesus has water to give them so they will never thirst again. It is a small world and God is always working to bring people together.

Pray for the disaster relief team that visit the S family as they also deliver food to two different churches and an evacuation center. Ask God to comfort people who are suffering, physically and emotionally. Pray for Christians to be strengthened spiritually and physically so that can minister to the needs of those around them.
