Let’s Memorize It!!

Recently B and P (ISC workers) decided to add to their strategy for helping Miss M go deeper with scripture. They were studying the story of Jesus being tempted in the desert. There are three clear statements made by Jesus in that narrative. They are important concepts in understanding who God is. “Man does not live by bread alone.” “Worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.” “Do not put the Lord your God to the test.” In order to get these verses into her heart, B and P agreed to memorize the verses in Japanese, if Miss M would memorize them in English. So, they have all accepted a challenge. Pray that God will bless this action of putting his word into their hearts, and let the seed grow into fruit in Miss M. As a young single woman she is se rching for love and safety. Ask God to protect her and help her have courage to believe what she has begun to read in His Word as truth.
B and P also have a neighbor, Mrs. JK, who comes weekly to read the Bible together. She agreed to work on memorizing the Lord’s Prayer in English when P said he would work on memorizing it in Japanese! Mrs. JK appears to already have a love and desire for the scripture. Pray that B and P will understand how to create the conversation needed to draw her to make a clear decision to let Christ be her Savior and Lord. Thank you for praying for these precious Japanese who God loves so much.
