Dear KFC Praying Partners:
We are off to a great summer. We returned to Japan (from STAS) on May 22nd, and one week later, on May 30th, our first volunteer team arrived. In the photo above, you can see Jodi, Jessica, and Clay, riding the train during orientation on their first full day. We also went to see where to go shopping, to see a Shinto shrine, and to the university campus where they will focus their work. It was a Saturday, so not many students were there. But we were prayerwalking, and prayed that God would provide for us to meet someone. A young man in a baseball uniform stepped up and said, “Hello!”
I engaged him in conversation in Japanese, and then asked if we could take his picture. He is a high school 10th grader, and his team was on campus for a baseball game. He got his friends to join in the picture, which you can see below.
He received a Bible verse card with our contact information, so that I can send him the picture we took. Pray that he will write to us, so that we can not only send him the picture, but can introduce him and his friends to Jesus!
God has brought us this special team, unlike any other that we have ever had, because they did not meet until they got on the plane to come here. We are all looking forward to what God will do. For the team, most days this week will be spent on campus. Pray that God has prepared students to become friends with our team, and enable them to share their faith in winning ways.
Today we enjoyed a special time of fellowship and worship with A.Y. Pray for her as she continues to seek to know how to share her faith with those around her at work and home.
Thank you for your participation in God’s work by praying for the salvation of the Japanese, and for the harvest workers God has provided.
We are very thankful to be back home in Japan.
With love and thanks in Christ,
Nancy and John
