Praying for Healing of the Heart and Body
September 26, 2009
Mrs. Iwa is a new believer who was baptized in April. She lives two hours away, so we meet early on Saturday mornings at a place half way in between our two cities. A couple of weeks ago, when we talked about who she might relate her new faith to, she mentioned the E family. The junior high son has refused to go to school for nearly a year now. She went home that day and called the mother, Mrs. E. The following day Mrs. E, her son, Ki, and Mrs. Iwa got together. Mrs. Iwa told Ki that we were praying for him. His face lit up. Then she said, “Let’s pray that God will heal your skin, and give you courage.” He immediately put his hands together and agreed to pray. Mrs. E is not so favorable to praying and faith in God, but her son obviously knows that he needs help from somewhere beyond himself. Mrs. Iwa is asking the Lord for His work in the life of the E family. Pray for God to show His power to them, and that this will draw them to faith in Jesus Christ. Pray also that Mrs. Iwa’s faith and new love for God’s Word will draw her husband to want to know about it, too. Pray that God will use Mrs. Iwa to draw many more into his kingdom in her small town.
