Seeking Help

September 9, 2009

Dazaifu_shrineOne of Matt’s friends is very concerned about getting into the university of his choosing.  Like most of his classmates, he studies hard and attends cram school at night for extra study.  Like many of his classmates, he recently supplemented his study by travelling nearly 200 miles to a famous shrine and praying for good test results on his entrance exams.  Enshrined at that particular shrine is Sugawara no Michizane, a prominent historical figure now deified as a god of learning.  Matt told his friend about our Creator, who sits above all so-called gods and invited his friend to trust this God instead of a mere man.  Please pray for Sho-san and the many other students who, along with their families, turn to wood, stone and even the deceased for aid, not realizing that “They can do no harm, nor can they do any good” (Jer. 10:5)
