Dear Intercessor

Dear Intercessor, we just wanted to drop you a note and say “thank you” for praying for us. We asked you in our most recent newsletter to pray for the Otomo family on Mondays in Sept/Oct. Already we have had greater opportunities to share Christ with this family. The mom, dad, and their only son (a friend of our son) live with the dad’s parents. On September 29th our family attended a kind of mini-olympics at the kids’ school. That day the Otomo grandmother struck up a conversation with us. She talked a bit about how she would one day pass away. She said she was telling her grandson that she would become a star in the night sky when she passes away (Disney’s Lion King view?) I asked her if she really believed that. She said she mainly just says it to comfort her grandson. I asked her to please believe in Jesus; I told her if she put her faith in him that she would be in Heaven with God when she dies.

Also, thank you for praying for our team (kids) on Tuesdays. Since we last wrote, our daughter had one of her best buddies over to play afterschool. Your prayers gave her the boldness to share the gospel with her friend. This in turn gave me the boldness to share a witness with the girl’s mom the same week. Please pray for the Ji family. The girl has a little sister the same age as our youngest daughter, so we invited the family to our daughter’s upcoming first birthday party. They haven’t RSVPed yet. We are hoping they will come, and we will have greater opportunity to sow gospel seeds in their lives.

More answers are forthcoming no doubt–please keep praying as we keep walking by faith, Donna Qualls, Sendai, Japan
