New Green Tea New Life
May 8, 2008
Shizuoka Prefecture is known for Mt. Fuji, spicy wasabi, fresh fish, and also its green tea. This time of the year, Shizuoka is abuzz with news and advertisements for the latest “Shin-cha” or “new green tea.” This is the first of the tea harvest for the year. It is picked and immediately sold, not kept in cold storage as is typical of tea. Shin-cha is expensive, but known for its wonderful sweet taste and its complementing value in vitamins. Shin-cha sells out quickly, and rarely makes it to the markets outside of Japan as a result of its demand here.
Lets pray that our “first harvest” of believers, in Shizuoka and all across Japan would have such a dynamic draw to those around them — full of vibrant and deep faith, never put in cold storage, but immediately spread throughout the country with freshness, flavor, and life. Please pray in faith even before the harvest is reaped.
