“Alone” and in need of deliverance
February 20, 2007
Pray for Mrs. T who lives where there is no body of believers with whom she can worship and fellowship. Christians from another town have been driving an hour to have worship with her. It has been a spiritual battle because Mrs. T who along with one in every seven Japanese suffers from depression. At first, her husband was open to her becoming a Christian; he saw a change in her as she lost weight and took more interest in her family. However, it seems that after worship she sometimes has horrible visions and dreams. She is filled with fear as a battle rages in her spirit. Before she became Christian she took care of the family altar each cay and her husband has asked her to continue to do so. There is definitely spiritual warfare in this place. Pray that she will be delivered from Satan’s attacks; that she will have the strength to stand against Satan.
In February, her husband asked the Christians not to come to have worship with her or to have contact with her in any way. Pray for emotional healing, for spiritual power, and for daily assurance that Jesus is with her and is her Lord and Savior.
Mrs. Wa had a similar experience when she returned to her parents home after she had brain surgery and her husband died. Her parents told her those bad things were happening to her because she had become a Christian. The mother returned her Bible, her songbook, praise song tapes to the church in Togane. She told the daughter to renounce Christ, return to the faith of her ancestors and stop seeing or talking to the Christians. Mrs. Wa seems to have given in to her mother’s pressure. Pray for Mrs. Wa to turn back to Jesus and know that she is not alone even if she is the only Christian in her town of 18,000. This town with its many shrine and temples is steeped in idol worship and it is indeed a place of spiritual darkness and oppression.
Many other Christians suffer from isolation. Pray that these new Christians who are “alone” will be protected from the attacks of Satan and be able to grow in the Lord and experience in their hearts all that salvation in Him affords. Even in some of our larger cities, there are new Christians who have been saved, but do not have others to fellowship with, to worship the Lord together with, or to pray with. Pray that those who are “alone” will realize daily that they are not alone, that Jesus is with them and will walk with them through every trial, every day.
