Fogged In?

September 26, 2009

画像 376 The name Shizuoka (pronounced shee-zoo-oh-kah) means “quiet hills” in Japanese. Shizuoka City is surrounded by luscious, green hills and the awe-inspiring Mount Fuji. This year has brought an unusually long rainy season to the city. Along with the rainy season has come a heavy fog that often blocks out the view of the mountains encircling the city. The people know that the mountains are all around them, but they cannot appreciate their beauty for the fog. Similarly, most Japanese people believe in a “god” of some kind. They often worship many gods. But just as the fog hides the impressive mountains of Shizuoka, Satan has blinded the minds of many Japanese people from seeing and knowing the one true God who created all that surrounds them. Pray that the Holy Spirit will open the eyes of the people of Shizuoka City to the everlasting God who existed before the mountains were born.
